We had an AWESOME evening!

I think it is safe to say we all had an Awesome evening together! I think most of us felt like we walked right back into high school and picked up with everyone right where we left off! We went to a GREAT school and it was obvious as we reconnected that we all still care a great deal for each other and enjoy being together!!

I am working on some of the pictures and will do my best to get them posted soon! I am looking for photos from all of you too! I didn't get to take as many photos as I would have liked because I was busy talking! Can you believe that!? haha! Please send me any photos that you have from the evening and I will post them here and then I will add them to the slide show that we played! I hope to have a way for you to download the slide show for yourself on the website soon! If you have other photos from high school that you would like to have added I would love to do that too!

I think everyone really enjoyed the multi class event and most everyone requested that we follow that idea again in just five years! If anyone has any ideas what we should do next time - please pass those ideas along! Please let us know your thoughts and ideas either here on the blog or send Julie an email dplumer@casscomm.com.

As we mentioned we will try to keep this blog going by updating each other every now and then on all the big happenings in our life - like when Danny's wife has their second child in December or when we have kids graduating or accomplishing great things! We will try to keep address, phone and email addresses current through the blog too! If you haven't sent us some pictures and an update please do so - everyone would like to see you and your family!

Keep checking back - pictures should be going up soon!

Thank you all for coming to our reunion! You made it a smashing success!
Love ya all!
Jules

Never Say Goodbye - Bon Jovi! I am trying to prepare the slide show for the reunion - if anyone has some photos they would like to share - hurry and scan them so I can include them - we don't have many and I think this will be a fun thing for all of us!! Email them to me dplumer@casscomm.com!

Update from Mark Burns

I earned my Bachelors Degree from Illinois State in '90, moved to Chicago to work as a Bank Examiner for the FDIC. Moved to Bloomington in 1993 when we got married and started Grad School at ISU later that year. Finished my MBA in December 1994 and we moved to Des Moines Iowa to begin my investment career with Principal. Our first two boys, Carter and Trenton, were born there. We moved to Peoria for a career move with Caterpillar in 2000. Our third son, Mason, arrived two years later. I was recruited by Country Companies in 2005 and commuted until our new house was built in Bloomington and we moved back in April 2006. You can reach Mark at mmburns2@insightbb.com

Updates from Bret Burgener

I went to Illinois State University for four yrs and received my bachelors in Ag Production and lived in the AGR fraternity house while I was there. Then I moved back to Moweaqua and rented a house and worked on the family farm raising hogs, corn and soybeans with my Dad and brothers. I was attending First Christian Church one Sunday morning and Angela Dial walked in and sat down in the pew in front of me and that’s when I decided to ask her out. We began dating and in May of 1994 we were married ( by Jason Smith!!!). Our first home was my great-grandmother’s house where we had our first date and where our first child was born in Oct. 1995. Abigail is now 11 yrs old. We liked her so much we thought we’d try again….Brock Charles arrived in Aug. 1997! In ’98 we moved to our second home which was my Grandpa Collins’ house. There wasn’t much to do that far out in the country and before you know it, we were expecting again. Alaina was born in April 2000. She cried A LOT. Even so, life was good! After the passing of my Dad in the fall of ’99, my Mom built a new house one mile down the road from where we grew up. Labor Day weekend of 2001 we moved into my parents’ old house and we still live here today. I have served on the Board of Directors of the first producer owned packing plant in the United States which was built in Rantoul in 2003. I work mostly with the hog production side of the Burgener Farms operation which produces about 15,000 hogs annually. In addition to farming full time, I have a power washing business. We wash fleet equipment. My wife is a stay at home mom who never really stays at home. Between volunteer work, running kids and her shopping habit, she’s busy all the time……except for her spa days and daily naps! As a family we like to camp as often as we can. The kids are involved in many different activities so we spend quite a bit of time attending those events. We continue to attend FCC in Moweaqua and have served as youth sponsors for the last couple of years. In the winter Angela and I enjoy getting away someplace tropical for a vacation. That’s about it for us. Looking forward to more updates from classmates and seeing everyone at the reunion. You can contact Bret at brgnr@frontiernet.net

Updates from SuEllen Hunter Mackey

Occupation : Teacher of course
Hobbies: Scrapbooking, teaching and the ILLINI

What has been going on: Graduated from Illinois State in December of 1990- BS in Elementary Education- Married in December of 1990- Started teaching at Macon Grade school in August 1991 (4th grade) John born Feb. 3rd of 1992. Divorced in 1995. Left Macon due to consolidation and of course better pay to teach in "Inner City Decatur". Have taught in Decatur since. Taught a college class for those entering education- like younger students much better! :) Continue to teach a night class at Webster Cantrell Hall (residential treatment facility). Love working with at risk kids/ or those who have major behavioral issues. I'm an on-call crisis supervisor for WCH also. Serve on board with Macon County Probation/advocate for juvenile offenders "Community Restorative Justice Board". LOVE teaching still! Teach 5th grade at Hope Academy, Decaturs only year round school/ brand new beautiful building.

Oh yeah- received Masters of Science in Sp. Education in Reading in 1999, Became National Board Certified in 2005. One fun thing is , I helped to put together a new reading series with a major textbook company- MacMillan McGraw Hill- made many trips to New York City at their expense.

Still live in Moweaqua, same place since married. John very involved in livestock/4-H imagine that. We love going to the Illini Football Games and of course we never miss a basketball game. Even hit many of the road games. Followed the team to St. Louis for the Final Four Game. Scalped for tickets and had a blast eventhough they lost.

John lives with his dad and will be a sophomore. He is involved in Football, Wrestling, and FFA. Loves to help my dad during the summer on the farm, and will get his drivers license in February. He is very tall 6'2" and doesn't show signs of stopping. Dr. Bilyeu's magic formula for calculating adult height of infants put John at 6'9". This could be possible his dad is 6'4" and he has an uncle that is 6' 11". Obviously he passed me a couple of years ago. Plans to attend Lakeland College and pursuing some type of Ag degree. Wants to transfer to U of I and finish out. I guess only time will tell. Grandpa told him he has to have a 4 year degree before he can come farm with/for him. So, thank heavens dad had a grandson.

Preparing to start back to school for administration certification. Don't want to be a principal now, but might consider doing it the last years before I retire. (That is a long TIME) Still love to go to school whether teaching or being the student.

Do you recognize Mrs. Rowe - our third grade teacher?

Updates from Lennie Moore

Where has the time gone, I can’t believe it has been twenty years. I guess we are all officially old now. I agree with many of you, it seems like just the other day we were all hanging out together on the playgrounds, in the hallways, at sports events or on the weekends . I can still remember many of the things we used to do. I still recall graduation when everyone had big dreams about all the things they were going to do in life and yet we all still wanted to keep in touch. I guess spending 12 years together in school had made us pretty close, unfortunately each of our lives get so busy we lose track of time. So I’m very much looking forward to seeing everyone again and catching up on what has been keeping everyone so busy. You can contact Lennie at LMoore@ameren.com.

What have I been doing since graduation? After high school I attended Richland Community College until 1991 and got my degree in architectural & construction design drafting. I worked for Macon County mapping department until 1993 when I took a job with an agricultural design firm doing CAD design work for them out of Villa Grove. Then in 1994 I started working for CIPS (Ameren now) out of Beardstown. I started there doing CAD work for them and worked my way up designing their sub-transmission lines for the west side of the state. Eventually in 2000 after learning on the job I was promoted to an Electrical Engineering position still out of the Beardstown office. I’m still there today.

My wife Mari and I have been happily married since 1993, I still can’t believe she has put up with me all these years. She works for the Air National Guard in Springfield. We have three boys, the oldest is Hayden and he is 11, the other two are twins which are 7 and their names are Brooks and Brennan. Between taking them to all their ballgames they keep us pretty busy, but we would not want it any other way. I have to say with my lovely wife and my three little buddies I’m very blessed and I hope everyone else has had the same blessing that I have. Once again I look forward to seeing everyone and catching back up. Contact Lennie at

Quick Update

Hey Everybody!

I am really excited to see everyone this weekend! It has been so much fun getting back in touch! There is an updated list on the website of those that are coming but I also wanted to share a few of those that are coming from the other classes - I don't have all the names but I have a few.... Mac and Tappi Davis McLeod, Jennifer Austin, Audra Manhart, Chris Sweeney, Chris Bright, Glen Hardeman, John Hrubecky, Debbie Markham Prater, Dawn Damery Morrell, Jill Cole Bailey, Lonnie Horton. I am sure there are others but these are the ones that I know of.

Oh and for the girls out there - I think most everyone is coming casual with a little flair! Nothing to Dressy - just comfortable!

Talk to you all soon! Have a great rest of your week!

Update from Michael Gregory

Twenty years… That’s scary. It seems like yesterday I was hanging out with all the guys. While we occasionally ventured out of town (Hayes, I still remember you getting me busted in Taylorville), we always seemed to hang out close to home. There are a lot of great memories there.

Just to get everyone up to date since graduation: After finishing Millikin in 91 I took a job in Danville Illinois at Hyster Company (Forklifts) which is now Nacco Materials Handling Group (I am still there… in the Parts Distribution Center). I started in March of 1992 as a pricing analyst and have held several jobs since then and now am the Manager of Warehouse Operations. I moved to Urbana in 92 and married Mendie Schmahl shortly after. Mendie is employed by Pepsi-Cola in Champaign. We had our daughter Madison in October 1996 and son Mason in Dec 2000. We lived in Ogden Illinois from July 1997until 2005 at which point we built a new home in St. Joseph. We are certainly blessed. While I cheer on the kids in there sports activities, I’m not yet a Spartan fan, but afraid I can’t hold out much longer…. That is kind of weird to me. Go Indians!! I still can’t believe Kneller threw all those interceptions against Arcola. Just kidding. Having a little flashback there. Look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
